Team Inglorious Masters was one of the final contestants at TADHack this year at Colombo. They had participated in last year’s TADHack and wanted to try bring their talent on spotlight this year also. The team wanted to build an automated platform to provide services at roadside emergencies.
The automated application can provide services at roadside emergencies, vehicle breakdowns and other vehicle related services. An android application will host complete range of service while the telco app will support emergency requirements. The team consisted on four developers and one business solutions member who helped them come up with the business plan for their product says Darshatha Gamage, Inglorious Maters team lead. We asked few more questions from them about their second experience at TADHack 2016.
1.How did you get involved in Telecom Application Development?
We got involved in the Telecome App Development through “TADHack 2015”, where we developed our first telco based application and we were selected as one of the finalists and we were also selected to pitch to the Lanka Angel Network in 2015.
2.Have you and your team done telecom application development projects before?
We have integrated Telco features to multiple projects which we have developed during past hackthons.
3.Do you think that you and your team were able to get the best out of pre TADHack meet ups?
Due to certain reasons only few members of our team were able to attend the pre-Hack. But the the meetups provided an understanding of the expectation of the projects.
2. What were your expectations at TADHack?
The expectations for us at TADHack were to test the feasibility of our project for real life and to receive mentor-ship from the experienced mentors and judges at TADHack.
5.How did the mentors help your team in overcoming problems?
The mentors provided guidance into the technical and business related issues we faced and provided new strategies and options for us.
6.What benefits did you get by participating at TADHack?
It provided us input on to the weaknesses of our project and on ways to overcome as well as helped in forming partnerships for the future.
7.How do you plan to implement the project?
We wish to implement the project in the near future. Initial focus is on finalizing the technical aspects of the project and to head into the business framework.
8.What improvements / enhancements have you planned for the project?
We will be implementing aspects of machine learning to the application.
9.Where do you see your project in five years down the line ?
We want it to be successful at a global scale.
With five undergraduates studying in the field of computer science engineering team Inglorious Masters impressed the panel judges at the final TADHack day among many other highly competitive projects. It was wonderful to see innovative products/ services are brought into implementation following the hackathon. We wish the team to bring the product into successful implementation soon, and the best of luck in their future endeavors.
