TADHack, the world’s largest telco application development hackathon, is returning for the seventh year in Sri Lanka organised by hSenid Mobile in partnership with Ideamart. Due to the current global and local situation, the event will be held virtually on 25 and 26 September.
Over the years, competing TADHack local developers have come up with exceptional solutions by pairing Telecom API capabilities with a range of modern technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IOT), and Blockchain Technology. This has helped budding young developers of Sri Lanka to try their hand at innovation and to explore new possibilities in entrepreneurship.
Since 2014, hSenid Mobile has partnered with TADHack Global as the host in Sri Lanka. Moreover, being ever vigilant about our country’s future, hSenid Mobile has decided to branch out and expand this year’s hackathon even further.
This year’s TADHack event will be unprecedented in that for the first time in its history, TADHack Sri Lanka will have a dedicated hackathon organised especially for school children, with each team having a mandatory requirement of a teacher to support and guide them. As a responsible corporate citizen, hSenid Mobile understands the importance of nurturing our curious young minds.
hSenid Mobile will also involve school principals and teachers this year, who happen to be the pulse of our nation, as they guide, mentor, encourage, and empower our youth to take up challenges as they grow into adulthood. As a precursor to the main hackathon event, this past week comprised:
1. A webinar on ‘TADHack Teens Sri Lanka Inauguration & Awareness’ in all three languages with the participation of principals, teachers and parents was held on 26 August.
2. ‘Learn to Code’ –three 3 sessions/first of which was held on 28 August (the goal here was to teach children with even no coding skills on how to code in just three sessions so that they could also participate in the event). Moreover, as these are virtual sessions, children living overseas have also registered to participate.
“TADHack Sri Lanka 2021 will be unprecedented in one key way this year. We will be opening up the event for school going children, with the hope that their participation would elevate a wave of enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge in technology that would result in creating compounding benefits towards the younger generation and our country,” said hSenid Mobile CEO Dinesh Saparamadu.
As the world continues to see inventions and innovation change our world in leaps and bounds, our sincere hope is that ‘TADHack Teens Sri Lanka’ would become a catalyst for our young minds to come to their own with a little help from hSenid Mobile, Ideamart, and TADHack as we move towards the future.
